Corey Rose

College Pastor

Corey is the CCF Pastor and Director. He was born and raised in the Silicon Valley (Yes, he\'s a CA transplant!) and graduated from UC Davis in 1981 with a Bachelor\'s in Soil and Water Science (?Pre-Mud? as he affectionately calls it). While he planned on pursuing a career in the sciences, his path took a unique turn when Jesus grabbed a hold of his heart during his college years and his life was forever changed...definitely for the better! With a growing passion to help others experience the life-changing power of Jesus, Corey headed off to graduate school at Talbot Seminary in So. Cal. When he graduated from Talbot in 1984, he joined the staff of First Baptist Church of Eugene as the College Pastor, where he still serves today. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Ministry from Western Seminary addressing in his ?big book report? (i.e., doctoral project) the topic of community, specifically as it relates to helping churches establish quality community living situations for college-age people. And while his job has expanded over the years to include a variety of responsibilities, he is still passionate about helping college-age people and 20-something-year-olds come to know and grow in Jesus. But even nearer to his heart are his wife, Jeanne, and his two daughters, Jeanene and Casey. By the way, Corey enjoys fishing, basketball, fishing, racquetball, reading, sports, fishing gear, seafood, Seinfeld, Survivorman, fishing boats, Law and Order, fishing gear, and combination pizza... without anchovies- go figure!
